Road Trip to Cape Cod - Day 3

Day 3 - Tuesday June 26, 2018

The weather today was perfect for spending time on the beach!
We woke up this morning and headed to a beach that we heard was great for small children: Skaket Beach. When we arrived, the tide was high, but the water was very shallow and perfect for little ones. You could walk very far out in the shallow water. Logan started his day with the boogie board, inspired by all the other kids riding in the waves!

Once finished ridding in the waves, Logan and Angus spent a good chunk of time building sand castes, destroying them and digging holes.

As the day went on, the tide went out and revealed thousands of hermit crabs. Logan joined the hundreds of other children armed with nets and buckets. He made lots of friends who he teamed up with when collecting creatures. We caught about 25 hermit crabs, a baby crabby crab and saw many fish and sea snails.

By dinner time, we were super toasty from the sun and decided to head back to the hotel to rest out of the sun for a bit. On our way back, we stopped at one of the many candy shacks to pick up saltwater taffy.

Before sunset, we made our way back to Skaket Beach to watch the sun go down. Logan and Hamish were fully dressed, but couldn’t resist getting back in the water! We had a blast watching them play before heading back to our hotel for the night.
