Road Trip to Cape Cod - Day 4

Day 4 - Wednesday June 27, 2018

Today was a cloudy day and we decided to spend the day exploring Provincetown. Provincetown is a really cute harbour town with lovely gardens and shops. We wandered around the streets and took a moment to check out the Pilgrim monument.

We decided to join a whale watching tour while we were there, and journeyed out to sea. Logan was excited to see dolphins behind the boat as we headed out to find whales. We got to see a big humpback whale eating before making our way back to land.

After our tour we had dinner at a restaurant and I finally got to have a lobster roll!

On our way back to the hotel we stopped in Truro to walk along Head of the Meadow beach. If we were campers, this looked like a fun beach to camp at (there was a campground on the beach). There were warnings as we entered the beach about sharks, seals and jellyfish.

As we walked we were always being watched by the seals playing in the waves.

We wanted to walk out to a sand bar where hundreds of seals were hanging out. We got nervous about the tide coming in so we didn’t walk as far as the seals.

The tide was quite low as we were walking and Logan was pretty excited to have stumbled on a small shark with a bite out of it! This became a great science lesson!

It didn’t take long for Logan to find other kids playing on the beach who he quickly informed about the shark. It was quite the scene with all the kids and the dead shark! Before it got too dark, we got back in the car and made our way back to the hotel.
